Simple Pleasures

Simple Pleasures

The sound of your voice,
Laughter that resonates within,
The healing of new wounds,
Love calling from a violin,

A world of simple pleasues,
Brings tears to my eyes,
Creating memories forever,
Of all things that satisfy,

But there are yet still more,
Children playing in the park,
Shivers racing up my spine,
A piano playing in the dark,

Your touch which means so much,
Love words from whisper to shout,
Are some of my treasured things,
Of this I have no doubt,

But simple is quite misnamed,
For it covers so much ground,
And simple pleasures are always there,
Since my heart’s been unbound.
