The Windows of My Soul

The Windows of My Soul
I could not see the world,
Because of the darkness inside,
I could not open my life,
There was much I wanted to hide,
Trapped in a sin-stained world,
Until the Lord came to me,
“Wake up,” He said, “Look around,”
“There’s much I want you to see,”
But I declined to open my eyes,
And refused to hear His voice,
But He pleaded with me time after time,
And I knew I had no choice,
So I let go to rely on Him,
Letting God take complete control,
And He responded by washing,
The windows of my soul,
The days are much brighter now,
Filled with all He’s made,
I’m greeting each day with joyful praise,
Because of the blood He paid,
To see each day painted anew,
Is now my daily goal,
Because He responded by washing,
The windows of my soul
