Nothing But Love and the Weather

My woman chooses to be with me,
Even though I’m growing old and needy,
Do you suppose,
She washes my clothes,
Waiting for the gifts
I forget to give?
For the words I’ve neglected to say?
She still smiles my way,
And treats me like a king,
You’d think I would appreciate everything,
I’d like to think I can wake up changed,
My life all rearranged,
My woman the center of my life,
With lots of love with no strife,
Do you suppose at any rate,
I could change at this late date?
Can I find the man I want to be,
While I love her and she loves me?
Tell her I love her with new-found voice,
While I’m wise and have a choice?
Let her know that she’s my queen,
Ruler of my heart and everything,
Do you suppose we could grow old together,
With nothing to talk about but love and the weather?
Right now my woman chooses me,
Although I’m growing old and needy,
With her by my side,
The world outside,
Still looks fresh and green,
Filled with life and sights unseen,
We’ll share our thoughts and grow old together,
With nothing to talk about but love and the weather.
