Just the Same

Just the Same
Have you ever wondered why,
So many people don’t look within,
When they are the same as you and me,
Just beneath the skin?
Have you ever considered that,
Even if they think themselves profound,
No matter how tall they might be,
Their feet still touch the ground?
Have you thought their great ideas,
Were discussed like walking on eggs,
But when all was said and done,
Did they walk with more than two legs?
Have you ever smiled and laughed,
At the strange things people do,
To make themselves look better,
When they’re the same as me and you?
